How To Give Good Names

It is quite difficult to choose a name for your newborn child. Deciding a baby’s name is just about giving his identity. There are studies that shows how much a name can reflects its owner and there is also studies showing that the association and connections of a person’s name with his personality. For instance, a person named Hannah, in Arabic means “love”, studies shows that most people named Hannah are a lovable and gentle. So, you choose Hannah for your newborn, she will grow up to be a lovable and attractive person according to its meaning. Name pattern a person’s character and personality just like a cookie cutter. Hence, giving a baby’s name should be a whole lot of research, effort and readings.

There are some families out there, by traditions that need elder family members to name the baby. Nothing is wrong about that. However, if the suggestions are leading to unhealthy or meaningless names, you should know how to avoid it. Some names in fact will forever ridicule a person and sometimes allow others to make a big laughingstock on it. Do no just consider a name when you fill it sounds cute, it might held a big mistake for a lifetime. A great example shown in a romantic humor movie “Meet the Parents”, where Ben Stiller cast as Gaylord Focker. The name is simply a big shame for the beholder. Gaylord Focker in the movie has a difficulty of telling other people his full name as well his name did give bad first impression from his in laws to be.

Some initials and names sound funny and sometime disturbing, such as Christine Sue Irving or Fran Ursula Catherine Klein or maybe just the funny character Gaylord Focker. Ensure that names and initials for your newborn would not create into sickening situation when he grows up. Put a sweet and meaningful name so that he/she would be glad and proud with it. Well, you can also do a little effort by checking family tree once and for all. Ask around since you might not want to have your baby’s name the same as your relatives’. It might get confusing some times.

Some parents are way too creative to spell their child’s name. It is harder if you create a very long name, considering and sticking all ideas into one. Sharing on making decision is a good way of maintaining your bond as a couple and your relationship with relatives. However, if the spelling is too unique and way too odd, it might backfire sometimes. Again, find it meaningful, find it simple and pure. Whilst thinking and creating your child’s name, a name dictionary can help a lot. There are plenty of such babies’ names books in the current market and stores today. Hence try it out! Happy naming!
